Despite being grouped together, these four pieces of music were not meant to be related to each other--with the exception of tracks one and two. Track two is based on a chord progression found in track one. It's the middle pizzicato cello section where the piano sounds like twinkling stars (whatever that means). Track three is just me at the piano, and track four is just me programming notes into Sibelius. And they were not written all in the same years.

But, they all come from the same place, and are all inspired by the same types of things.

I group these together and tag them as 'video game music' (whatever that means) because I was inspired by those sounds and images. I'll show you what type of soundtracks really inspired these:

Track 1 - just track one. Actually, this was a composition class project for me.

Track 3 - Hollow Knight (what a surprise, that one)
Track 4 - Slay the Spire
